What this policy covers

This policy covers this website, doorstepmoves.com, and its two forms: the renter waitlist and the property pilot interest form. The Doorstep app is not available yet. Before it launches, we will publish an updated policy that explains how the app handles information.

Information you give us

Renter waitlist

• Your first name and email address
• Where you're moving and when, if you choose to tell us

Property pilot interest form

• Your name, role, company, work email, and phone number (phone is optional)
• Your community or portfolio name, its size, and its submarket
• Your answers about leasing challenges and move-in specials, and any notes you add

We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send, Social Security numbers, credit information, bank or card numbers, or identity documents.

Information collected automatically

• Hosting and security. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
• Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people from bots. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not read what you type into our forms.
• Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed. It doesn't use cookies to track you, and we only see totals, not individual visitors.

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may use technologies that are strictly necessary to keep the site and forms secure.

How we use information

• To add you to the waitlist, send a confirmation that you've joined, and email you about Doorstep's launch, especially in the area you told us about
• To confirm we received your pilot request, respond to it, and follow up about the pilot
• To understand overall interest, such as how many people joined from each area
• To keep the site and forms secure and free of spam and abuse

How we share information

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with apartment communities or anyone else for their own marketing. We share it only:

• With service providers that run the site for us: Cloudflare (hosting, security, analytics, and email forwarding) and Google (form submissions are stored in a Google Sheet, and our email runs through Google). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
• When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Doorstep, our users, or others
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy continues to apply to information collected under it

Pilot interest answers are never shared with other apartment communities or used in any market report.

How long we keep information

We keep waitlist information until you ask us to remove it, or until we no longer need it to let you know about Doorstep's launch. We keep pilot interest information while we discuss the pilot with you and for a reasonable time afterward. When we no longer need information, we delete it.

Your choices

• Stop emails: reply to any email from us, or write to [email protected], and we'll stop emailing you.
• See, correct, or delete your information: email [email protected]. We'll confirm your request and respond within 30 days.

Security

We limit access to form submissions to Doorstep's own accounts and use reputable providers to host the site and store submissions. No website or service can guarantee perfect security, so please don't send sensitive information through our forms.

Children

This site is meant for adults looking for apartments and for apartment industry professionals. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Where information is processed

Doorstep is based in the United States, and this site is intended for people in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll also note it on this site and, if we have your email, may let you know directly.
